Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Bitlance collects, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and your choices.

1. Who is responsible for your data

  1. 1.1
Bitlance is operated by DCA Labs LLC, registered in Próspera ZEDE, Roatán, Honduras. DCA Labs LLC decides how your personal data is used.
  2. 1.2
    Questions about your data: admin@bitlance.work.

2. Information we collect

  1. 2.1
Account: name, email address, and whether you are a client or a freelancer. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see it.
  2. 2.2
Profile: what you choose to add, such as photo, title, bio, skills, rate, location, availability, portfolio, and company name and logo for clients.
  3. 2.3
Work: jobs, proposals, invitations, contracts, milestones, submitted work, ratings, reviews and disputes.
  4. 2.4
Messages: what you write and the files you share in chats.
  5. 2.5
Payments: your Lightning address and payment records, such as amounts, invoices, dates, releases and refunds. We never ask for or store wallet keys.
  6. 2.6
Support: questions you type into the help assistant, and emails you send us.
  7. 2.7
Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.
  8. 2.8
Collected automatically: pages visited, browser and device type and approximate location (through Google Analytics). Our hosting and database providers keep technical logs that include IP addresses.

3. What other people can see

  1. 3.1
Your public profile can be seen by anyone: name, photo, title, bio, skills, rate, location, portfolio, and your work history with ratings and reviews.
  2. 3.2
Job posts can be seen by anyone.
  3. 3.3
Messages are shared with the other person in the conversation. Bitlance admins can review contracts and messages when handling disputes, safety or support.

4. How we use your information, and why

  1. 4.1
To provide the service you signed up for: running your account, showing profiles and jobs, contracts, messages, and taking and sending milestone payments.
  2. 4.2
To keep Bitlance safe: preventing fraud and scams, handling disputes, enforcing our terms, and securing accounts and payments. We do this because it is necessary to protect users and Bitlance.
  3. 4.3
To meet legal duties: keeping payment records and answering lawful requests from authorities.
  4. 4.4
To communicate with you: emails and notifications about your jobs, messages and payments, and newsletters if you asked for them.
  5. 4.5
To improve Bitlance: understanding how the site is used and answering help questions.
  6. 4.6
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising by other companies.

5. Who we share it with

  1. 5.1
We use these providers to run Bitlance. Each receives only what it needs for its part:
  2. 5.2
Google Firebase (login and database), Vercel (hosting), Cloudinary (photos and files), Blink (Lightning payments: amounts, invoices and Lightning addresses), Resend (email), Google Analytics (usage) and Google Gemini (help-assistant answers).
  3. 5.3
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect users from fraud or harm, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.

6. International transfers

  1. 6.1
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. We use established providers and only share what each one needs.

7. How long we keep it

  1. 7.1
We keep your account and profile while your account is open.
  2. 7.2
Contracts, payment records, disputes and messages are kept after an account is closed, because the other person and our payment records depend on them, and to deal with any later claim or legal duty.
  3. 7.3
Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

8. Security

  1. 8.1
We protect your data with access rules, server-side checks for payments, and providers with strong security. Payment records can only be changed by our servers.
  2. 8.2
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

9. Your rights

  1. 9.1
You can see and edit most of your information in your profile and settings.
  2. 9.2
Freelancers can delete their account in Settings, which removes their login and profile. Clients can ask us to delete their account by email.
  3. 9.3
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a purpose. Email admin@bitlance.work. We will reply within 30 days.

10. Cookies and similar technology

  1. 10.1
We keep you signed in using your browser’s storage.
  2. 10.2
Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

11. Children

  1. 11.1
Bitlance is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
